FMEA organizes 24 different All-State and Honors Ensembles that rehearse and perform under the direction of world-class conductors, composers, and clinicians.
Scholarship
The June M. Hinckley Music Education Scholarship assists students majoring in Music Education at a Florida college or university.
Conference Experiences
The "Student Conference Experience" and "Tri-M Experience" along with the Student Leadership Workshop at the FMEA Professional Learning Conference.
Non-Traditional Music
Programs for Non-Traditional Music Students include our Guitar Festival, Steel Band Festival, Crossover Festivals, and Digital Music Showcase.
Advocacy
Advocacy
The FMEA Advocacy Committee monitors all bills introduced into each Florida Legislative Session and contracts with a lobbying firm to meet with legislators regarding any bills that may affect music education in the state of Florida.
Legislation
FMEA writes and supports legislation that benefits music programs in Florida Schools, such as the recently passed Seal of Fine Arts and Marching Band PE Credit.
Coalitions and Partnerships
FMEA works with NAfME and NAMM, the National Association of Music Merchants, and other national organizations to monitor Federal legislation that may affect music education.
Collegiate Advocacy Day at the Capitol
Putting a human face to arts education by engaging directly with lawmakers to secure the funding, policies, and systemic support necessary to keep music thriving in Florida's schools.
