FMEA is managed by the Center for Fine Arts Education (CFAE), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Florida Music Education Association.
Scott Evans
Executive Director
Mr. Evans is President & CEO of the Center for Fine Education (CFAE) and Executive Director of FMEA. He has over 30 years of experience as a music educator and arts supervisor, most recently as the Executive Director of the Eliot School of Fine & Applied Arts in Boston, Massachusetts. Prior to that, he was the Senior Director of Visual and Performing Arts for Orange County Public Schools in Florida, where he supported the work of 700 arts educators and over 160,000 arts students. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts and his master's degree from the University of Central Florida.
Val Anderson, IOM
Director of Operations
Val has been with FMEA/CFAE since 2003. As Director of Operations, she is responsible for contract management and various other duties of FMEA. Val received a Bachelor of Science in Criminology from Florida A&M University and a certificate in Organizational Management through the Institute for Organizational Management (a program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce) at Villanova University. She is a member of the Florida Society of Association Executives, where she serves on the Education Committee, and the American Society of Association Executives.
Josh Bula, PhD, CAE
Web Development & Director of Information Technology
Josh has been with CFAE since 2009. His primary duties are web application development, technology strategy, and network, server, and database administration. He also provides general tech support for staff and members, and manages conference Exhibit Hall sales along with various other duties. He has a BME and a PhD in music education from Florida State University and a Master's in Music from the University of South Florida. He is a member of FMEA, NAfME, the Florida Bandmasters Association, the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), and the Florida Society of Association Executives (FSAE), and has served on the Technology Professionals Advisory Council for ASAE.
Jasmine Van Weelden
Marketing and Membership Coordinator
Jasmine has been with CFAE since 2017. She is responsible for creating marketing content for our publications, the website, monthly e-newsletters, and social media, and layout and design for our research publication. She also manages the general membership, Exhibitors, and Corporate & Academic partners. She has an MA in History of Art from the Courtauld Institute of Art, and a BA in Art History from Florida State University.
